In October of 2000, God opened the doors for us to pastor Gleaner Full Gospel Church after
being members there for eight years. The vision and word God has given us in this hour is of
hope and restoration. A word of encouragement to the broken-hearted and crushed in spirit.
He has given us Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who
weep" that is where our heart is. Since becoming pastor of Gleaner, we have seen many lives
changed by the miraculous working hand of our Lord. We stand in amazement at the many
newly saved and re-dedicated lives in this short period of time. The powerful messages God is
bringing forth in this hour are changing lives and setting the captives free of the bondage that
weigh them down. People are witnessing a movement of God like they have never seen
before. We have several in our church from many different backgrounds that have never
known such a movement and are experiencing it for the first time. God is setting people free
of "religion" and opening hearts, showing that his love and forgiveness is without hesitation.
In the past few years, my heart has been drawn to minister to women. The Lord laid on my
heart at the beginning of 2006 to hold weekly bible studies. It has enabled me to minister to
women that have real issues that they have kept locked away in their hearts. Through these
studies many women have allowed those buried issues to be brought forth and dealt with in
order to start the healing process. In these studies I have witnessed God touch women in such
a way that only He can do. Many have been set free of hurts, anger, fears, and low self-
esteem from deep secrets, such as incest, rape as well as hidden drug addictions. Many have
been delivered from things that they were ashamed of and that have kept them in bondage.
In my own personal life I know from experience about locking things away instead of dealing
with them. I allowed the Lord in my life but still had many issues that were stumbling blocks
in my spiritual walk. I had to make decisions to forgive my hurts, anger, and fear in order to
allow the Lord to remove those stumbling blocks. Facing these painful issues in my life and
finding the Lord has allowed me to be the women God has called me to be.
Harboring bitterness and unforgiveness only slowed down my healing process. Only through
God and His loving grace and mercy was I able to overcome my fears, anger, and
unforgiveness. I had to let God work in me, before He could work through me. I have dealt
with many issues that could have destroyed me, but the Lord kept his hands upon me and gave
me the strength to take a negative situation and turn it into a positive experience... I know and
accept what it says in the scripture, that God uses ALL things for His Glory.
I have been in the ministry for 20 years. I have seen, and experienced lots of heartache, but
also have witnessed as well as reaped many blessings. We have had to deal with two of our
children on drugs, but stood on God’s promises for their lives. It was with much prayer
fasting, and planting seed that they both are set free and serving in the ministry with their
spouses today. They use their testimonies to set others free, again what Satan set out to
destroy God used for his glory.
Our ministry is based on Jesus Christ, the Hope and Restorer of the brokenhearted. He has
given me hope and restored my wounded heart. He has brought me through when I saw no
way out. If he can do it for me, He will do it for anyone, for he is no respecter of person. I
believe it is time for God’s people to deal with the issues of the heart and let the healing begin.
I must be busy about the Lord’s business, for it is an honor to be called to be about his
business. I am so blessed in seeing the fruits of his wondrous works in our labor. I believe the
trumpet is at his lips and soon to be sounded, therefore there is no time to sugar coat the
coming of the lord.
Mary Whatley
My name is Mary Whatley, and I have been saved since May 18,
1976 at the age of sixteen. I went in search of a priest (man of
God) but instead I met Jesus. I asked him into my life with great
expectations and I have not been disappointed with his amazing
love.
I have been married for thirty four years to my husband Simon.
We have four children and nine grand-children. I, with my
husband Simon have been pastors of Gleaner Full Gospel Church
for over 10 years. We have made ourselves available to help
meet the needs of the church, as well as the needs of the people.
I have ministered in several churches and outreaches as well as
numerous women's meetings. It is a wonderful feeling to see
hope come to the faces of those who feel there is no hope, and
find that their hope is in God.

Simon Whatley
I was radically saved and filled with the Holy Spirit at the age of
16 and delivered from drug and alcohol abuse, and my life has
never been the same since. At the age of 17 a prophecy was
spoken over me that I would be a pastor. In 1987 the prophecy
that was spoken over me was finally coming to pass. I was called
to lead praise and worship and lead the youth ministry for four
years and eventually became associate Pastor of Christian
Outreach in Fresno, Texas. The Lord moved us from Christian
Outreach to Gulf Meadows where we worked under the ministry
of Pastor Roy Love. In 1992 God moved us closer to home and
brought us to Gleaner Full Gospel in Alvin, Texas where we again
became Praise and Worship Leaders and Youth Ministers and
Associate Pastors and now serve as Senior Pastors since October
of 2000.
